Intel has released the Compute Stick for the Indian market. The Intel Compute Stick will sell on Flipkart as well as will be distributed by iBall as the iBall Splendo PC-on-stick. According to Flipkart the Intel Compute Stick is listed at Rs 9,999.
The Intel Compute Stick as the name implies is a computer on a stick. It comes with an Intel Atom quad-core processor and there are two variants based on the operating system. There is one with Windows 8.1 OS pre-installed, 32GB storage and 2GB RAM. The other variant has Ubuntu 14.04 and comes with 8GB storage and 1GB RAM.
Both the devices have Wi-fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0, a USB 2.0 port for connecting peripherals and a microSD card slot for additional storage.
iBall will be selling the Compute Stick under its own Splendo branding at its online and offline stores. The price for iBall Splendo is not yet known. Speaking about the launch, Sandeep Parasrampuria, director iBall said, “The innovative design of the Intel Compute Stick is fully optimized to get the most out of the performance of the Intel Atom Quad-Core Processor for games, videos, spreadsheets, or presentations.”
