The particular OnePlus 2 has only arrived but we have now already found things that might have been done better, or in any way.
That's not to mention it's not a fantastic phone, it very probably is (we'll inform you for sure once we've place it through a entire review), but it's not perfect and offering a wish directory things that we would like to see the next time around.
Of course we are not aware of much about this OnePlus 3 yet, but we often see it surprisingly shortly, as there will be apparently another OnePlus phone coming later this year, though it's not going that this is a true successor towards OnePlus 2, we'll probably have to wait until mid-2016 for that. But whenever we find the OnePlus 3 here's what we should see.
Read our face to face OnePlus 2 assessment
1. NFC
NFC is perhaps the single biggest omission on the OnePlus 2. It apparently was not included because it's not a popular characteristic, but that doesn't change the belief that almost every additional flagship and a good amount of lower end cell phones offer it, not forgetting the OnePlus 1.
It may additionally soon get far more popular, with Android Pay planning to launch, so it is a feature that all of us really hope is reinstated to the OnePlus 3.
2. Fast charging
Quick charging is something else the OnePlus 2 lacks. It's a tad bit more forgivable than the lack of NFC, since it is a feature that's only quite recently been implemented into cell phones, but it's also a very useful feature, allowing you to juice up your handset right away flat.
The OnePlus 2 features a pretty big power supply but once this runs down you're likely to be out of action for quite a while, so hopefully this OnePlus 3 will not likely lack it.
3. A faster fingerprint scanner
It's too soon to be too critical on the OnePlus 2's fingerprint protection, but in first tests we didn't find it quite since fast as assured. So assuming it's a little slow next obviously a faster one around the OnePlus 3 can be good. In fact faster is obviously better, no matter how good the current one is.
4. Cool running
The Snapdragon 810 the primary focus of the OnePlus 2 has experienced its share regarding problems in other devices, with several reports of overheating. Supposedly the OnePlus 2 uses an improved version yet it doesn't seem immune to warming up.
We'll let you recognize whether it's genuinely overheating or not when we've put it through a whole review, but in the event the OnePlus 3 may avoid even finding a little toasty that may certainly be treasured.
5. A QHD screen
The actual OnePlus 2 has a 5. 5-inch 1080 times 1920 display and even though it's fairly sharp it could possibly definitely utilize the extra pixels of an QHD screen, especially as it's around the large side.
Ideally the OnePlus 3 will not get any even larger, it makes more sense being a smartphone than any phablet, but it may certainly afford in order to pack in some more pixels.
6. Long battery life
There exists a 3, 300mAh juice pack inside OnePlus 2. That is certainly pretty sizeable, but then it's also an attractive sizeable phone. It's not clear yet the time lasting it will be, but battery life is a major issue with almost every handset so however good it can be we're sure there'll end up being room for progress.
Whether through a greater battery, a more useful screen and processor chip or full-featured electrical power saving modes there is a lot that can be improved here and hopefully the OnePlus 3 uses those improvements.
7. A microSD card slot
There's no microSD card slot inside OnePlus 2, which instantly makes the 16GB type near redundant for almost any serious smartphone user. The 64GB is a better guess, but then you are also spending more money and we include almost 100GB of cat pictures we'd like instant access for you to, so a microSD card slot would be a huge help.
With any luck , OnePlus is jamming. Its motto will be 'Never Settle' after all and with this OnePlus 2 we need to settle for only 64GB of feline pictures. It's certainly not okay.
8. Instant charging
Not only does the OnePlus only two lack fast charging, but also wi-fi charging. This is really a technology which is finding its feet, but for a self-proclaimed '2016 flagship killer' it is just a feature we'd be expecting.
We wouldn't be surprised in case a wireless charging event is launched correctly, but we don't want a case, we want this tech baked strait into the phone. The OnePlus 3 has to have it or OnePlus may need to rethink their marketing, as by simply 2017 we 50 percent expect our phones to fly, while wireless charging must be as common seeing that Bluetooth.
9. No lag
With a Snapdragon 810 processor and up to 4GB of RAM the OnePlus 2 really shouldn't lag, yet while it's mostly lightning fast we have noticed some lag with the home button, which didn't always return us to the home screen immediately. Hopefully this will be sorted with a software update, but we want the OnePlus 3 to be as smooth as silk from day one.
10. A similarly low price
Any issues with the OnePlus 2 will be largely negated by its astoundingly low price tag. Sure, it's not quite entry range, but with a starting price of £239 ($329, around AU$452) it's roughly half the price of phones like the Samsung Galaxy S6, despite packing similar specs.
That's a massive win and for the OnePlus 3 to keep the momentum up it will need to be similarly affordable.
